EXPLORING THE WORLD OF PUBLISHING
I grew up in Kolkata, the cultural capital of India, and the birthplace of modern Indian literary and artistic thought. With my background in English Literature, working with language and stories felt natural, and I decided to explore the world of publishing. As an in-house editor at Cambridge University Press (India) and Seagull Books, I learned the art of making books. Besides editing, proofreading, and working on the layout of a book, I acquired in-depth and hands-on knowledge on different aspects of the publishing industry.

To me, nothing beats the thrill of working in the publishing world. Whether it be being one of the proofreaders for the 2012 Nobel laureate Mo Yan's book POW!, editing Christa Wolf’s last story August, writing English textbooks for Macmillan Learning, helping set up the Seagull School of Publishing, training talented students in the craft of editing, guiding first-time authors to publish their dream book, all my experiences have enriched me and made me fall in love with my work more.

I love being a global editor and have had the pleasure of living and editing in three countries. I now live in Canada with my husband, my tea collection, and my travel journals.
